Dymona Ann Alexander wasn’t an accident. She was born from an intentional desire to tell a story about a gifted child. One born into turmoil, but saved by the grace of a grandmother’s love.
As ironic as it was, G-Ma couldn’t heal the wounds of her own child… or even her own childhood. But within her struggles, she gave Dymona the love she needed. That dynamic—the wounded healing others, and ultimately being healed through their ability to love and protect, is a theme yo Auntie enjoys writing about.
In a world filled with turmoil, chaos, hatred, and sorrow, I write for resonance, not reach. I don’t shy away from feelings, deep emotions, healing. If you step into Auntie’s neighborhood, you can expect joy and pain, laughter and tears. A different perspective and a found family you never realized you needed, until you did.
And so did Dymona.
At just five years old, her life was suddenly thrown into a whirlwind of new experiences, including meeting her mother for the very first time. As one door opened to a new kind of love, another quietly closed on a love she would never forget. The kind that would shape her and help her heal others.
G-Ma.
Her grandmother’s love remains ever-present in Dymona’s life, even when she becomes the infamous Dymon Stud. The one the ladies love. The swagger and the energy that this bad boi brings to the fast food females passing through her life.
But beneath all of that, G-Ma is still there.
So why Dymon Stud? Why now?
This third and final book in the My Day One series brings Dymona’s story full circle. But more than that, it arrives at a time when the world is in desperate need of healing. This story continues a journey through found family, self-awareness, and growth.
Yes, we all need light-hearted moments. We all need stories that let us escape. But using feel-good distractions, whether it’s food, alcohol, sex, or anything else, as a way to avoid reality doesn’t heal us. It only offers a fleeting moment of relief and often comes with a cost.
What yo Auntie brings in this story, filled with both joy and pain, with deeper emotions, is an opportunity. An opportunity to look within. To see yourself or someone you love, in one of these characters.
In Dymona. In G-Ma.
And maybe, just maybe, find a way to face your own mental, emotional, or physical challenges in the safe space of this story. To grieve your losses. To meet new friends and new family. To celebrate your ability to reinvent yourself.
But most importantly, to heal.
Because our lives aren’t meant to be lived in isolation. We are not only creatures of habit, we are creatures of community. Dymon Stud aka Dymona Ann Alexander, shows us what it means to build that community. To thrive within it and ultimately, to grow into who we were always meant to be.
I hope you find your next book friend.Your book family.Your inspiration and healing, if you need it,, and your joy.
Welcome to Dymon Stud’s world, where you're always welcome.
Happy Reading,
AGL
